Default noticed sizzling sound coming from steering wheel/instrumentation panel area

noise usually occurs when driving on freeways with rough surfaces, once the road turn into smooth surface, the noise's gone. i hate this kind of thing, sure i can take it to dealer but what they gonna do? take apart the steering wheel or dashboard and looking for problems, there's a chance they makes it worse. anyone else had experienced this?

If it is from the instrument panel, sounds like the dash rattle problem and there is a TSB for that. For me, they put some felt around the instrument panel on the inside to prevent it from happening.

Easiest way to duplicate the problem is to intentionally run over the turtles or rumble strips on the freeway if you see them.

Yes, bott dots is the proper term for them. They also known as road turtles.

I hear a squeaking and rattling sound of the entire front dash when driving on rough roads.. Does anyone know the TSB/TSIB number for the fix?

silly question, i'm having my f-sport springs and shocks installed this weekend, scheduled to take the car in next wednesday. will dealer blame the newly install suspension for the noise? i seriously doubt it but they might.

I had this same problem with my dash and the dealer fixed it. The squeaky noise was coming from the connection between the top of the instrument cluster and the dash. I was able to replicate the noise by squeezing (with my hand) the area where the instrument cluster meets the top of the dash (where the two screws are). I'm not positive that there is an actual TSIB for this issue.
