Look good, but if anyone want to do this without cutting, just get a fsport *** and screw it down, it goes down petty far, mines at where the op has his without cutting

^^^ I say yes to this idea, but no to the leather boot. That would just be weird. But ya, looks like you can cut it a couple CMs

1. Can you explain in detail how you did this if it is so easy?
2. Enough with the leather boot! haha this isn't a manual

Step 1 ; Remove all trim around the shifter after you measure how much you want cut.

Step 2 ; Cut with hack saw

Step 3 ; Put your shifter back on with loctite or whatever you prefer

Thats how easy it is..

Just to let you guys know, im not gonna leave it like this. The shift **** will come off in a few weeks, be replaced with a black one as well as the boot. I will add the threads to it then, i did all this with a FEVER yesterday..

For now, it seems sturdy, i mean come on its not a stick, no reason you should be going crazy with a auto shifter.

The project all in all took me about 3.5 hours, but that involved me sanding everything that i wanted to paint and doing the shift ****.

I really recommend this mod guys, Lexus did not think when they designed parts of this car. They made a $30k car look like a $5k car. I believe on cars like this the shifter should be smaller and sportier, it just fits the car better.

I know the leather boot sounds kinda funny but plenty of autos have them and i like that look as well, pretty much im going for the look that BMW's have. (ya ya copycat i know)

I Will keep this thread updated, i am going to install my carbon lip now

Oh and btw guys, when the project is done, the shifter will be another 1 mm shorter. It can happen, it wont hit. Only hits is when its all the way at the base i believe.

No, you can't do the carbon lip now. You have to do the boot first because now you have all of us wondering how you are doing it and what it's going to look like! Don't be like that. That's messed up..

Haha i live in a 6 mile square island, no leather boots in stock anywhere Advanced use to sell them but not anymore, plus they are all ricer ones down here. I need to order one online

Im looking for a high quality boot, can anyone recommend one ? I don't want vinyl.

And im about 80% sure im getting a f sport shifter, if not a black OEM one.

Hey Guys I just did this to my car right now and did not even have to cut the Shifter rod.
Using my FSport **** I use a 1/4 drill bit and drilled the hole inside the **** to pass thru the plastic cap that limits the insertion of the **** and here it is. No cutting DYI.

Sorry 305iskid. I thought of it first and you came in took my idea and now there is no cutting involve.

There you go. Patience and Ideas are a virtue.
First of all i didn't take your idea. Your not the only one with a brain.

Good job on coming up with that but don't accuse me of something when you cant prove it.

Big deal two ways to do the same thing. Both ways are just as easy.
