After owning my car for 2 years, I noticed mine was all scratched up. I took a closer look at it and realized that it still had the protective film over it (which is what was scratched). I peeled it off and now it looks brand new!
+1 I was so happy after removing it because it was scratched up pretty badly. I think the film is still over the small shift lock override area though. I can't seem to get my fingernail underneath it and don't want to risk causing a scratch.
Just checked mine and it was still in tact after 59k!!! HOLY crap...this makes the stupid gouge in my bumper not feel so terrible...awww who am I kidding...the gouge still effen sux!!!
I took mine off about 10K ago... just of word caution guys, it scratches pretty easily. I just use a new clean microfiber cloth to dust off the console sometimes and it has still managed to get scratched!!! Maybe it happens when I take to the dealership and they clean my car... I don't know.
I think I'm gonna buy some kind of protector for it.
