Default first time driving my new IS at night, noticed something annoying

that orange glow inside the speedometer lights up whenever the speed exceeds 75mph. is there a way to turn that off. Also is there a night mode for the navigation display? my wife's TL's nav screen turns to dark background at night time to make your eyes comfortable.

You can change the speedo and tach "glow" to whatever speed and RPMs that you want. They are reminder lights. Your Nav screen is set to daytime mode. Check your manual for both. They are listed in there and how to adjust.

^ what he said.

for the orange speedomenter, you can turn it off or adjust the speed at which you want it to glow by pressing the "satellite switch" buttons behind the steering wheel on the left side.

to dim the navi screen at night, there is a control **** next to the satellite switch to dim the dash lights. turn it counterclockwise.

refer to the owner's manual quick guide to find these switches

good luck.

I don't know about your roads, but setting it up to 75mph is perfect here.

RED? ROFL!!!

I left mine at the factory defaults 75mph / 120 kph. To me, that is more of a speed limiter not to go above it set the cruise control just below enough so the orange ring does not go off.

My husband tried to find the red ring on Micaiah one day while I was in the car. One penetrating death glance toward his way and that foot came off that pedal immediately. Funny how it's MY car he has to have 'fun' with, not his own.

unlike on xbox these red rings are fun

There is a **** to the left of the steering wheel, if you turn it past the "click" your navi will stay lit bright, keep it right before the "click" and your eyes will be alright.

I saw the red line a week after I bought the car, and I was pretty impressed that they have that. The only thing I really hate, and I mean HATE is that our trunks don't have lights. At night when I'm trying to grab something, I can't see what's inside because there is no lighting from above or inside.

"Red ring of death"

It's appropriately named for both situations, I'd say.
