Cheaper alternative to Prestigious Society Nav bypass module?
Nav and radio are basically useless right now with the stupid Lexus lockout
I know the prestigious society kit works well, but its pretty pricey. I found this other japanese bypass kit that cost 1/3 of the price! Anybody has any experiences with it? http://beatsonicusa.com/nav-dvd-bypa...ss-module.html This is the link for the Japanese website: http://www.world-beatsonic.com/tvnavi/?bland_id=1 |
I don't know of anyone who has tried it - sounds like we need a guinea pig. :)

I talked to beat-sonic and here is the summary of the kits:
1 - There are 2 kits, NA and NVK. The difference is that the NA kit has a programmable timer (2, 3, and 5 mins) and the Nav will revert back to normal automatically. The NVK is manual and you basically flip a switch to enable the override and then switch it back to go back to normal. Both kits are fully plug n play, however, the NA kit requires that you tap a ACC power source to power the LED. You can either use the cigarette lighter for power or the fuse box. The NVK kit does not require any external power source. 2- The kit that also plays DVD has a different part number (didn't ask the PN because I don't care for that functionality). 3- Kit is made in Japan 4- They don't have a working demo, but people are welcome to swing by their warehouse to check out the kits. The warehouse is located in La Mirada (socal). 5- They have other products not listed on their US website, but they can get them if anyone is interested Considering that the NVK is only 95 bucks I would say this kit is looking to be a steal compared to the PS one (as long as it works as advertised) |
^ Ahhh, so the override module only does nav, not video? And you have to get a second kit for the video?
