I JUST bought a 2007 IS 250 AWD last week. I did not look at the car since it was in another city, but had a friend look at it. When I got the car, I noticed the driver's side windshield moulding was a little bit loose at top, but i figure i could just glue it back or fix it later. The car had been driven from dallas,TX to amarillo,TX (6 hour drive) without a problem.

Two days ago I drove it from amarillo to temple, tx (450 miles), and the driver's side moulding flew off on the highway.

I called lexus and they told me it is not covered under warranty since the windshield had been replaced. they quoted me $280 to just replace the driver's side windshield moulding.

I know you can do this yourself, but I am having trouble finding the parts. I have found the rivets, and I have (possibly) found the driver's side moulding, but I can't find the clips. the only clips i can find are part number 75545-53010 and it says it is for 2008-on. Are these clips ok for 2007, or where can i find the clips for 2007?

also, if you could help me find alternative places for the moulding (or the driver's side moulding part number), I would appreciate it, as the only moulding i can find is on ebay and it is used.

$280 just seems a bit ridiculous for a piece of moulding to me.
