Help my Driverside HID doesn't work

So I ordered my 6K HID set from Xenonsupply and got home and installed it. Made sure I disconnected the batt before even doing anything. All the plug ins are correct and i even switched the bulbs around to see if its the bulbs and its not because it would light up on the pass side. I got a new ballast the other day, popped it in and still no go. Just flickers for 2 seconds then nothing.

So you returned the original ballast and they sent you another, and both didn't work?

Yea they gave me a new ballast. It seems like there isn't enough power going to the driverside headlight. Everytime I turn it on the bulb flickers then shuts off, the fog lights flicker as well but they stay on. I switched bulbs around and same thing. Is the fuse a 15 amp fuse under the hood? I checked the fuses and they all look fine.

Mine flickered the first time i installed them. Not sure what happenned but when i installed them second time around, no flickering. Maybe something is loose, i don't know it there is a left and right bulb?

Btw when you out back your oems do they both work?

That is interesting. What year IS250 is this?

i'm having a similar issue on my IS accept the problem is with the passenger side
i'm sure the issue will be solved with a relay harness
a cable that ensures steady 12V current goes to both ballasts to power up both lights
if you drive around for a while now, the driver side will probably light up eventually

i'll be putting a relay harness on mine probably thursday this week

i think u need the HID relay harness

Thanks for the advice guys. I figured out what was going wrong. It was one of the connectors that was bad. I swapped out the bulbs and ballast and nothing changed, but I left the 5" connectors still on the bulbs and totally didn't think about it. I was about to give up on it tonight then suddenly I thought about it and what do you know it worked when I put the connector from the pass side to the driver side. Emailed the representative to either give me a new connector or kit again.

eh? Aren't the connectors part of the bulb harness? At least that is how it is with HIDeXtra kits.

HS2G Oct 4, 2010 08:57 AM

No they aren't. I have ordered a few HID kits in the past and none of them has had this extra connector. This kit has a 3rd connector that connects the bulbs to the ballast not a direct connection. I PMed HIDXTRA for another kit for my fogs just waiting on the reply.
