I wanted some input on what you guys think would be better quality or look better.
I can either have my wood wrapped in carbon fiber by a shop for around 250
or
I can order some sort of kit like this
http://www.cargym.com/lexus-is250is3...it-p-1327.html
Has anyone ordered from this site before?
Thanks

FX auto (vendor) has a carbon trim kit (seen it in person). OR you can get the real Is-F carbon.

I did something like that on my IS350. All good except one on steering wheel. (sorry no pics. I'm @work).

One on steering wheel (around switches) did not fit good. It was little too big and overlapping. So I attached tightly (not stretching tight but in-place tight, I hope you know what I mean) and later on it started to lift up. So It made a bump and look like shXt. I cut it and try to put it down and it didn't stay. MAKES ME MAD!!!

I just bought 3m carbon fiber and will replace the ones on steering wheel.
I'll try to up load some pics later.

I can do it for you for cheaper than anywhere you will see and look professional. I would gladly help you out and it would be really good carbon fiber better weave than seibon. Let me know bro.

I bought a kit.....It looks more professional. I don't like the matte carbon fiber look.

All you need is some Carbon fiber vinyl overlays with 3m backing, an exacto knife and a heat gun.

OP: Read this https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...for-isx50.html

If you don't mind the matte look, go with a 3M Di-NOC wrap, the cheapest option.

If you like the glossy "real" CF look on a budget, go with an overlay like the Car Gym product. The only downside to these is that they are raised above the trim (because they're sticker/overlays) and you can see the edges.

If you're **** or really want the "real deal" go with FX Auto.

If you just like spending lots of money, get Think Design. Looks just like FX Auto, but costs four times as much.

Here's what my FX Auto Carbon Fiber interior looks like:

Your FX Auto overlays look really good. Could you elaborate on how they are raised above the trim? Are the edges not covered? Perhaps you have some closeup pictures showing how they are raised above the trim? Thanks for your time

I tried car gym, the fitment was unbelievably poor.

But there are people who got them in better fitment as I remember.

I think you misread my post. FX Auto doesn't do an overlay (I hope I'm using the proper terminology), but rather real carbon fiber. With FX Auto and other authentic CF jobs, they lay real carbon fiber over your OEM pieces and then put the resin over that (like a clear coat, for gloss).

With an overlay/sticker, it's real carbon fiber but on an adhesive. So the the sticker is raised a little bit (moreso than something like FX Auto) and the edges of the sticker show obviously. Hope that clears things up.

I'm with you now and found their info in the vendor section. Just not sure how excited I am about shipping my OEM pieces ;-)

Sorry about the misunderstanding - I'm fighting some kidney stones and am a little slow right now...either from the lack of sleep or the pain killers ;-)

Well that's supposedly the case with any carbon fiber right? You can polish it away though, and my car hardly sees any sun so it shouldn't be a problem for a while in my case.
