cargo net hook pop'd off

So I was packing my trunk this morning since I'm going on a trip, and I tried using the cargo net (which is used to groceries, small items) to hold down my stuff from shifting by hooking into the far metal hooks, then connected the bungie loop to the hooks behind the lights. I guess there was too much pressure when I realized it wasn't meant to do that and one of the hooks pop'd off as I was trying to remove them. The some of the bungie cord slid out of the other hook.

Is there an easy way to fix it? Just wanted to see if someone knows how to pull the hook pieces apart (its 2 pieces) so I can put the bungie cord back in snug. I'm going to tinker with it later, just thought I'd save myself the trial and error period.

I dropped my car off to get detailed/clear bra'd and totally forgot to grab the cargo net. D'oh! Pics after the weekend when I get it back and fiddle with it.

The piece isn't broken, I just have to take it apart. Wasn't sure if you just pry or whatever, or if there was a special way to do it.

Sorry to revive this thread, but was there ever a solution? I just broke mine as well!

I just had the same thing happen to me. Took it to the dealer, they didn't have an answer. While they were getting a new net from the back of the parts department, I was playing around with the hook - turns out it's an easy fix.

The hook has two pieces - the actual hook and the collar. The collar twists - and when the lines of the collar are aligned with the lines of the hook, the collar is locked. Twist the collar 90 degrees and you can pull it off. Then all you have to do is realign the next into the hook, slip the collar back on, and twist it back so the lines on the collar and hook align and boom you're done.
