Question Performance Steering Wheel

I have searched most of the threads about steering wheels and it does not look like there are many options except for carbon attachments or alcantara overlays. Ebay has a few, but I am always hesitant to believe the fitment will be that good.

Does anyone know where I could have a wheel like this fabricated for an IS350?

I had the alcantara in my old 330i and it was great, I also like the flat base for entry and exit, and the deeper thumb notches at 9 and 3 are really comfortable on longer drives and on track days.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried to search for something different as well and only found a few things that were excess of $800 w/o airbag, mostly performance steering wheels though. But the IS market compared to the BMW 3 series one for after market parts is like 1:100 it sucks

You can always bring it to a local custom shop to have that done. To be honest the wheel's just stitched (and probably glued too) with a layer of leather. Nothing difficult by any means. You just have to remove the leather and attach on the alcantara with or without some thin cushioning under. It's easy just more time than anything

Kuugi sorry for the delayed response. I agree about the alcantara wrapping being easy, my primary focus is to have the flat-bottom wheel (like the original link). With my height it would make entry and exit from the car much easier. Any 'simple' tips on that or would a custom shop know how to do that as well?

I saw L-Tuned has some nice IS-F wheels, but having had carbon on the top of my wheel before I know it can get blistering hot when left in the sun so that one really is not an option.

May just buy a junked ISX50 wheel an play around with it. To my knowledge as long as I don't play with the mounting points or airbag I should be fine...Time to get a hacksaw

Thanks

They're $600 and a bit of a complicated DIY. I wish I had the free cash right now, because they look amazing and the quality is legit on them. They're on my wishlist for Christmas!
