At least I CAME ACROSS the issue that the PLUGS on the INNER [TRUNK] plugs/socket is slightly different,
dont know If I need to cut the socket or change harness?

I believe you. Some pre-2009 trunks do NOT have the tab. My buddy with a 2008 IS for instance was able to install his 2011+ tails no problem.

You're suppose to change the entire harness. You reach behind the sheet metal and squeeze the white plastic clip that pops into the trunk, then after that's free squeeze to get the harness separated.

I understand that but its just that the stock 2008 harness from the car TO THE INNER TAIL LIGHT is different.. it doesnt seem to fit the new 2012 Tail light assembly.. let me see if I can get it out and take a good pic..

Yeah, that's what I mean by the harness. You replace the whole wire harness that goes to the inner tail light (same for the outer tail lights too as I recall).
