Default Cologne + center console = etched/bleached

Was trying to smell good for the GF and had my cologne drip onto my console... immediately wiped it away (less than a second) but harm was already done. Looks like the plastic got etched/bleached and cannot restore.

What's the cheapest way of fixing this?
Should I buy a new center console (silver, no seat warmers)
Should I buy carbon fiber overlay?
Should I wrap in carbon fiber cloth?

haha, that's really the cheapest solution eh?

I'm reading up about the aerotect overlay now... only 70 bucks, precut, looks simple. Anyone have any opinions on aerotect vs neffy wrap?

I had the same problem. Spilled something and it stripped the silver. I ended up get the pre-cut kit from Aerotect. Looks 100x better.

i'm reading through that thread... it seems like the silver trim pieces are not removable from door. Is that true?

Seems like you should put less cologne on if there's enough to drip off of you

Yea, it's not removable. You just wrap over it. See photos of mine on page 5 and 6.

That's a perfect circle from the drip.

Is it a stain or damage to the plastic? Try feeling it to see.

If it is a stain, you can try some cleaner. If it's damaged plastic, then you'll have to go with vinyls.

While I'm at it, anyone know where I can get this trim piece? The overlay on top has come loose and is trapping stuff underneath. Would like to replace this piece when I do the overlay.

yea, i know, my car is due for a cleaning :X

couple of things...

1st, take a bath BEFORE you see your gf, then you wont need to use cologne

2nd, wow your car is dirty, you should keep a mf towel in the glove and use it once in awhile...

3rd, try meguires quick detailer/cleaner thing, if it doesn't get the spot out... you can still use it for the rest of your int

is the center console sealed? if it is just normal trim, you could look into a product called black wow.. it may be able to give the trim a nice shine that will last very long
