Tire Sensor Broke?????????
Hey There!!!!
So i bought a 08 used IS250 and been driving for a couple of month, everything was perfect "no warning light" has come on.
Suddenly yesterday when i start the engine, and on the screen it said "Check System" here is the pic!!!!
So i had the dealer check it
They said either me or the ex owner use the "Fix flat tire" to fix the tire and those "chemical" broke the "SENSOR"
They said i have to pay for it. Its not under warranty. And is not cheap man
Do u know where can I get the Sensor with a cheap price and install?
Thanks A lot!!!!!!!

you need to take the old one out... put one new one.. then reprogram... single sensors cost about 60 labor costs to take it out probably 30? and the single programming about $30 at the dealerships... pm me if you need to find single TPMS sensors... i might have a spare lying around

i had to replace my tire sensor and i tried to get it fixed by my personal mechanic. he said that its something only lexus can program. it cost me 300 dollars to fix one sensor. I dont really see a way out of it but goodluck!
Sorry to hear that man...
Did you buy it pre-own from the dealer? If so, isn't there some warranty or is it sold as-is? Since EX owner screwed it up, it shouldn't be your responsibility. I know in California, dealers are required to offer one year warranty on pre-owned vehicles.
As for the TPS Light, is it ok to ignore it? Or does it keep coming on to annoy you when you're driving?

I got the same error on my car after putting back my stocks. I don't think the sensors are damaged they are still brand new just had some aftermarket wheels for a week then put my stocks back on. Hopefully the dealer can reset it

I'm no expert in this field, but maybe each sensor on stock is programmed to be in a certain position on your car (right rear, left rear, front left, front right). Since you never re-programmed you might be able to switch your tires around until you get them in the right position; there's not TOO many different options since were staggered. It'd save you some cash too. Just my thoughts, hopefully someone can confirm this!

wrong. it doesnt matter which position the sensor is on the car. all you have to do it get a new sensor (check ebay or if u have a hookup, get it warranted) and program it into the car. most big tire shops (tires plus, sears, tire kingdom etc) should have the software to program them into the car. all it is is a laptop that plugs into the service port under the steering wheel.

but dealer said this is either my or the ex-owner fault, because of using those chemical "fix flat tire"
since i bought the car and drove out of the dealer no warning light has come on. So i cant blame them for selling a car with a broke sensor
thanks guy for helping
my friend used those fix a flats.. the green stuff and the TPMS is fine even for 20k so far...
if it says TPMS SAFE might want to get a complaint to whatever the fix a flat company is
