Hi.I have a lexus is250 and i have a problem with my side mirror.It doesn't move up or down just left and right.The dealer told me that i have to change the entire mirror.I have the luxury edition and i want to ask if all lexus mirrors are the same or i should search for a specific one.Mine moves down when i put the reverse on and i believe they are heated also.I have already find one on ebay which is also the same color as mine that's why i m asking you.Help

 

Are you under warranty? Should be a free fix is so.

 

I m under warranty but the dealer told me that they cant replace the whole mirror under warranty.They asked 750$.We had i fight and i m waiting their final reply but i don't think they will help me.The bad think is that there is only one dealer in Greece so i dont have any other option.That s the reason i m asking you because my only option is to buy a used one from ebay and install it .I just want to know if all the mirrors are the same or should i look for a specific one

 

doesn't make much sense, if it is under warranty they should make it good. Unless it was somehow physically damaged.
They might replace the mirror and not the housing though. There should be no reason to replace the housing if it is not damaged

 

There is no damage in the mirror.It just don't move up or down just right and left and its annoying specially when i park the car.The dealer said at first that it was the mirror ecu and we changed it but that wasn't the problem after all.They said now that it is the entire mirror that needs to be changed but it is not under warranty. They said i cant just change the mechanism off the mirror and it needs a new one.After our fight i m still waiting for an answer but nothing yet!

 

They should cover that! If not then I think it's time for a call or a letter to corporate.

 

check your adjustment ****... it should be clicked to the left as if you are adjusting your driver side mirrors then it will tilt down when in Reverse... if not it would not....

if you have luxury package or sports package on the sticker... and after you've tried what i said above... bring it to the dealer... it's under warranty... and it should.... be covered.. it's the error of the dealership.... call up lexus corp if you can't get it done still

Yes, run this up the flag pole and complain to corporate. The price of your Lexus included the warranty, this kind of problem should be covered.

 

Thanks for your replies.I did everything but i cant find a solution to my problem.I will call the dealer tomorrow again and tell them about our discussion and if they still don't help i will see what i will do.

 

I wouldn't call. I would walk in and ask for the owner or the manager of the dealership. If service is giving you a hard time the manager should know about it. If they both give you a hard time then call corporate and give them both names.
