I'm loving this set up and definitely will head that direction with my layout, but I have a question for the OP or Bing himself if he's around..
How well does that compartment breathe? With the set-up as is I'd be really afraid of cooking my amp on long usage..... I'm far from an expert so I'm leaving this with you guys, but I know in the past that amps that didn't get plenty of air to them overheated easily...?.?.?.?

Bing will be able to better answer that question, but the JL Audio HD/750 amp is digital and thus runs very cool. It also has a feature where it starts to dial back the power if it senses it's overheating. If this were a Slash Series amp, it might be a problem.

Thats my bad, I should've looked up the amp first. I wasn't even thinking about digital. Thanks for the info!

acutally Osudoc, aside from class D amps running cool, remember that this amp isnt encased or anyhting. heat travels upward, and if you look at the picture of how the amp is bolted, you will see that there is acutally quite a bit of room for it to breath above it and below it, if there was a fully enclosed box right around the amp, then yeah, breathing may be an issue, but this design, i would think even a normal class AB, a properly designed one, would work fine
i have pushed my limits when it comes to putting amp in stuffy situations ehe, since i do a lot of stealthy and hidden installs, and for me, this isnt close to the limits at all hehe
