Default 09 center vents on 08?

Hi everyone,
was just wondering if anyone knew if the 09 model center vents above the nav unit would fit on my 08.. has anyone done this?

I kinda like the 09 vents more, and want to replace since my 08 ones are broken.

Thanks!

This is also something I've been thinking doing since the '09 was introduced. But, the part is so expensive. To me, it appears that it will fit, but I have not tried it.

well it'll fit in a dash if thats what you were thinking about, but it will not align wit your 08 navi/radio unit. 09 vents are concaved and it'll look really really weird whan you put it in. You'd have to get the 09+ radio/navi unit to match both

I've looked at the top of the center stack on both the '08, and '09, and to me, it appears that the line between the stack and the vent is the same.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I think it'll fit but won't be perfect. I found this image below of the 09+ vent on a 06-08 navi unit. His dash was deteriorating so I don't know how flush it is on top. Bottom middle seems to be ok but the corners do stick out a little.

Nevermind. It does not fit unless you grind the bottom clips to make it fit.

That's correct. I got an aftermarket nav that fits 2009+ on my 2008 car. After buying the 2009+ vents, I need to cut a few centimeters off back to fit into the air outlet.

Reviving an old thread. I have an 07 IS350 and just placed an order for the 09+ Dashboard along with the 09+ center air vent. So after reading this post would I also need an aftermarket HU or an 09+ HU or what?

Just don't use the 09+ vent on your new dash and you won't have to do anything.

If you want to use the 09+ vent for some important reason, you'll want to also get a 2009 head unit and/or modify things appropriately to get it to fit.

55844-53030 is the 2009+ duct behind the vent, which you'll probably want.

So I can just cancel the 09+ air vent and just install the new dashboard and it'll be a perfect fit?

Yes, the same dashboard will fit 2006-2013 with either style vent.
