Default "Check VDC" help

Today I hopped into my 06 is250 and I noticed the check engine symbol and the display reads check VDC. I know the vdc is the traction control system but has anyone had this happen to them? is there an easy way to fix it without bringing it to a dealer? I only have powertrain warranty left, will it cover getting the engine checked?

Don't worry about the "Check VSC" indicator. It comes on along with the check engine light (the VSC system is disabled when the check engine light is on). So figure out the check engine light, and the check VSC will likely take care of itself.

First, check to make sure your gas cap is tight, as this is one of the most common causes of a check engine light. If that's not it, see if any of the auto parts stores in your area will read the computer codes for free. (Here in the US, AutoZone is one chain that will)

This car has so many 'warnings' that come on, it drives me nuts. Every time it happened, I tracked down what it meant form the Manual and fixed it from there.
