Possibly a stupid question, but if you run +35 on a 8.5/9.5, can you use spacers to make it more flush, or would you run into the same rubbing problems? Do spacers adversely affect performance or anything like that?

If you're custom ordering rims, you don't need spacers. You just need to figure the correct offset for flushness. i.e. +35 on conservative drop w/o fender work or +22 with fender modification.

I think he is asking if he does run +35 on a 8.5/9.5 and then find out it wasn't flush enough and wanted to use spacers if it would be a problem

I'm pretty sure spacers affect performance and some people here with spacers had theirs snap. To answer the question Yes it will make it more flush and Yes it will affect performance to my knowledge.

That's good to know about the spacers. Do you think a dealer would let you test fit a rim before you buy it?

Doubt it, dealers are really **** about those things. You're better off making a friend on the forum and trying their wheels. I'm pretty sure someone here on the forum got pictures on how dealer wheels like F-sport and Spiders look like with a drop or without.

I know a Lexus dealer will probably not do it but what about a vendor on here that sells aftermarket wheels

Thanks for that info. What I was trying to ask was that if you do get spacers to get a +35 offset wheel more flush, does that mean you'd have to do the exact same fender work if you got a +22 offset wheel? Picturing it in my head, I would assume yes since you're pushing the wheel out, which would cause rubbing.

Yes you still gotta do the fender work if you use a spacer.

Default another offset question...

hello I am seriously considering buying a set of rims soon but before I buy them I wanted to get some input from the offset pros here lol... I am going with a set of 18x9 +38 and 18x10 +38 F&R. I am looking to drop my car 1 inch as well. The tires I will use will be 225/40/18 and 255/40/18 (stock tires), will this setup require any fender mods or will this be safe? I am just hesitant because the dealer did warn me that I may need to roll my fenders if I go with this setup...

Thanks man. So it's decided. On a 8.5/9.5 setup, +22 with fender mods for flushness, while +35 is the closest without rubbing/fender mods (on a moderate coilover drop.) This helps tremendously.

What size tires would be best for a 8.5/9.5 +35/+35 setup? Looking for similar to stock ride quality, as close as possible to OEM overall circumference (most important).

Default 08 IS250 Wheel fitment Question

I have an 08 IS250 owner who is interested in the wheels that I am selling. Here are the specs.

Wheel Specs:
Front 20x8.5 +38 offset
Rear 20x11 +32 offset

Finish: Chrome
Tires: Falken 452
Tire Sizes:
Front 245/35ZR20
Rear 285/30ZR20

Their car is at stock height at this time is there any chance that they will fit or would they be a problem for sure? Anyone running these sizes?
