Since you have an AWD, make sure the rolling diameter for the front and rear is as close as possible. I was lowered to no wheel gap on 18x9.5 +30, and I had to roll fenders and adjust camber to make sure I didn't rub. 18x9.5 +38 at stock height, you should be fine.

Before you lower it though, I would look into rolling all fenders at the bare minimum.

I know the 2IS rear 18s are 8.5" wide but this question is for 8.0" wheels.

Has anyone got pics or know if it's safe to use 265/35/18s on 8.0" wheels?

Ive seen 265/35/18 on 8.0" wheels before and it doesn't look in particular like anythings wrong. However that doesnt mean its safe. I have yet to see a 265 that a manufacturer recommends to go on less than a 9 inch rim. But like I said Ive seen it done. I personally wouldn't suggest it though since the sidewalls won't have the proper elasticity they require for optimal performance.

I hear you. It's the safety factor that i'm worried about. It will definitely be a concern during cornering but what if it's for normal daily commute with no freeways or long distant driving.. max 45 mph.

Default 19" Infiniti g35 Rays Wheels on AWD is250

I don't know if I'll get a response but here we go anyways. I have a 2006 IS250 AWD and picked up a set of Infiniti Rays 19" wheels. Given what I've read about our cars and keeping the diameter the same as oem (correct me if I'm wrong) I thought that my best bet was going to be 225/35 in the front and 235/35 in the rear. The tire shops in my area aren't staffed with all of the brightest and I don't want to risk damage to my car trusting them.

I searched this thread and found a couple answers for wheels with similar specs mostly - 19x8.5 255/35 rear & 19x8 225/35 front.

Help, please?

..you can do that but the rolling diameter wont be the same in the rear. You could do 225 35 all the way around. Also make note you will need hub centric rings to prevent vibrations with those wheels. And i think different lug nuts too if i remember correctly

Thanks! With the half inch difference in width, wouldn't I need to have different sizes for the front and the back though? that's what's giving me a headache. I've looked at the diagrams and docs explaining the circumference and percentages different from stock but I'm extremely gun shy given the horror stories I read about breaking the AWD.

I have new lugs and need to pick up the rings - probably when I get the tires. That's a good way to snap a bolt (learned the hard way on my old SC400)

Which Ray wheels are you referring to? Get the exact wheel spec. https://www.wheel-size.com/size/infiniti/g/ or show pic.

I found a good deal on rims.
Fast FC04 18"
225/45/18 offset +35 all around
Would these fit on my 2006 is250 AWD stock height?
I currently have wheels and tires with exact same spec as stock 17s with 15mm spacers in front and 25mm spacers in rear and its pretty flush.

I'm using the 19" Rays that came on the up spec'd version of the G35 coupe. As seen below. I just want to make sure that I don't screw myself by not buying the right circumference tires for the rears.

F: 19x8+30mm offset
R: 19x8.5+33mm offset

Imo you should be ok with 235/35 and 265/30.

Just to be sure, you got acorn seat lugs, right? I think all OEM spec wheels use acorn seat lug nuts, while all aftermarket wheels use a tapered seat.
