trying to run a square set-up 19x9.5 +30, should I run 19/35/235 or 19/35/225 tires? Also would I need any fender mods? I'm dropped on BC Coilovers trying to get no finger gaps all around

 

I am thinking of getting Work Wheels XSA-03C 19" wheels.

Question: When I check the Work Wheels Japan's site and look at their PDF for what they recommend for the IS250, they say, 265/30 and not 255/35 which Lexus would recommend. Was wondering if there is a reason behind this.

First observation using a wheel calculator is that the 265/30's actual speed will be slower as to use 255/35. Second, the wheel's sidewall height will be similar to the front wheels (225/35).

 

I just mount my wheels and my rear rubs when i drive over any small bumps. The size for my rears for 18x9.5+31 with 255/40/18 tires. I'm lowered to zero finger gap and I had to raise it to 1 finger gap and it still rubs when I drive over bumps. Would you guys recommend a fender roll or more camber

 

i'm assuming this is for an awd 2is? go with 235/35-19. may require a light roll.

you should be running 225/35-19 for the front.

without knowing the widths and offsets of the rear wheels, i can't say whether 255/35-19 or 265/30-19 is the better fit.

fender roll would be more or less permanent. if that's not your thing, then run aftermarket arms for a less permanent solution.

alternatively, run 245/40-18.

 

i don't know anything about fenders so I'm wondering will there be a disadvantage of rolling my fenders in the long run? I just know its not noticeable when you roll it.

 

it sounds like something you might not be interested in. i'd look into camber arms or 245/40-18's as an alternative to fender rolling.

When you say camber arms, are you saying i should buy an aftermarket part to put more camber to my rears? Wouldn't putting more camber kill my tires faster?

I don't think I would consider 245/40 because I just bought new 255/40. I dont want to go through to hassle of selling it and remounting tires. Thanks for the suggestion though. I appreciate it.

 

My opinions on above are:

1. Work chose 265/30/19 because it will make the wheel and the car look nicer. Thin sidewall will make the wheel looks bigger and more vivid, espcially at very low ride height.

2. With 19X9.5" wheel, most tire manufacturers recommend tires with 265 mm. section width and 255 mm. for 9" wheel.

3. Using 265/30/19 will make your speedo show somewhat 3% "FASTER" than your oem Lexus spec because of the reduction of overall circumference.

4. Using 265/30/19 will make your car riding harsher due to shorter sidewall and wider tire contact patch.

 

only con is that it's permanent. that, and there's also two tabs on the inside fender edge that holds up the fender lining. once you roll your fenders, those tabs go as well, and your fender lining will need to be affixed to something else.

if not done properly, you might end up cracking the paint and/or doing more harm than good.

the myth is that more camber will kill your tires faster. reality, however, is that the wrong toe settings - even without camber - will kill your tires.

If possible, can you tell me what is an ideal camber/toe setting for my front and rears that will prevent rubbing whenever i go over a bump/dip/fast sharp turns(applies to front) without fender mods. I don't know if it is possible but I want to be rub free with 0 finger gaps all around.

Opps, that was a typo, yes 225/35 I was referring to.

2 possible tire configs I may go with:
- 19 x 8.5 + 42 Fronts / 19 x 9.5 + 45 (with 265/30, or stick with the 255/35 for rears)
- 19 x 8.0 + 40 Fronts / 19 x 9.0 + 40

I just bought some new wheels, 9.5F and 10.5R, +22 offset, and I have my fenders rolled. I am also dropped on Megan springs ( http://www.amazon.com/Lexus-Megan-Ra.../dp/B005C6F214 ).

I do not want to fender pull, nor stretch my tires, nor camber arms because I don't want to change tires every few months. I am about to change my springs to probably Eibach if needed, as they give less of a drop ( https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...d-for-2is.html ), so that's prolly the only thing I can do lol.

What size tires should I run in order to not rub?

 

I think you bought the wrong sizes buddy^^^^^ too aggressive. You need stretched tires and you will definitely rub.

 

Even with virtually no drop b/c of the Eibachs? (1.0" F, 0.8" R, according to the suspension thread I posted)
