I have a 2009 Lexus 250is that will not crank. The problem began 1 month ago all of a sudden. After starting and stopping many times during the day I return home for the evening. Then in the morning it will not crank after sitting in our garage all evening. This occurs about 1 in 10 times to start and now more like 1 in 5 times. I’ve had it towed to the dealer 4 times now and they have checked everything they can think of ie battery, terminals, grounds, fuses, wiring, starter, jump start, etc. etc. but No success. The dealer can Not run diagnostics as there is No power to the car. Then after sitting for hours the car will all of sudden start. The odd thing is that absolutely Nothing was done to the car and it starts after hours of just sitting. The problem has only occurred in our garage or driveway and once at the dealers. When it doesn’t start the only things that still function are the radio and dash lights ie those things that run off the accessory switch, all the remaining functions do Not work. At this point there is little hope for success and I must have a car to make my sales calls every day. I sincerely hope someone can help or lead me in a new direction for assistance.

My benz did something similar, it ended up being a crank anlgle sensor (so the dealer said), it was under warranty back then.

Try taking it to an independent mechanic. Good luck,
