New blades work better but if you want to really cheap out you can take a fine grit of sandpaper and sand down your old ones till you get to softer rubber.

they don't use codes anymore, just register with your club lexus username and you'll get the discount automatically when logged into their site with your account.

I went to my local dealer and paid under $4 per blade and install took about a minute per blade. They work great!

Can anyone tell me why I'd replace the blades on my IS as opposed to just replacing the inserts for $13? I'm confused reading some of these threads and seeing people talk about how they replace blades every year or few years out of principle. My wipers were streaking, so I bought the $13 inserts from Sewell, replaced them in 5 minutes, and the wipers work perfectly. I can't see a reason I'd ever change the actual blades (even for an aftermarket brand) unless they were broken or defective, which I don't see happening.

Unless the frame has an issue itself, then yes replace it.

From what I heard, it's best to change the blades twice a year. I forgot what I was told but I believe it was once after summer and the other is after winter. This way after the extreme conditions, the inserts will be good and not have to worry about them wearing out after the blades go through those.

I think it's time to replace my wiper blades since they're tearing. Should I get the wiper inserts for $13.20 + shipping? I'm a little confused as some members in previous posts said that they replaced the whole thing and for less than $4 at the dealer?

Costco is selling 2 wipers blades for 7.99. They're made by Goodyear.
