Is it possible to have the software upgraded in a 2007 IS350 so the paddle shifters will operate when the transmission is in D as is possible on the 2009 models?

What the bajeebies? Probably has to do with the ecu. Its not that hard to shift it into S mode and shift. Haven't heard them come up with anything or an update to do that.

I'm sure there's no official way to add this to a pre-09 model.

There might be a way to physically swap one or more ECUs to enable it (kinda like how you can enable the "real" TC/VSC disable on 06 models if you swap out the trac ECU) but like that mod I suspect it'd be stupid-expensive to do it for relatively little benefit given they're not even real shifters in the first place.

actually i asked dealer to update the transmission system if they can, so that I can down shift in D with paddle like 09-10 IS models but mechanics said it uses totally different system and they can't just upgrade the software.

but I still think, it is possible........

I wish they came out with a valve body upgrade like the is300 guys have...

If there's a software upgrade that could be made, I think there needs one to be one to get rid of the shift delay.

I Agree, and instant shift would do wonders on this car like the F. Too bad thewre not really shifters...just gear limiters

Youve been missing out on the fun! FYI, after playing with the manual shift, Hold the Right shifter for 2 seconds to cancel manual shift and it will return to "D" mode.

Wow thanks i didnt know that. One time i went into manual mode when id ownshifted in drive and i didnt know the -F to get back into drive mode. I ended up driving all the way home in s mode lol.
