i did this using 3GS parts and wired it to the LEDs under the kick panels. mine dim and light up when I shift from park to drive.

The trigger is weird...i forgot how it works but the dimming is done with the negative wire.

It changes the potential on the negative wire from 12V(off) to 0V(full on). The 12V wire is constant all the time.

That's a nice mod. They should come like that factory. Looks much better.

Hey Javy....

Just wanted to take the time to Thank You very much for creating this awesome DIY thread!!!

All the parts you listed were perfect & spot on!!!! I won't bore you with my wiring pics..

The only thing I did different was added 1/4" wire loom for that stock feeling..

Also, couple of key side points for other members..

- If you have an IS-F or an ISx50 with "Reverse Tilting Side View mirrors"..
(found in Sport or Luxury Pkg)

The thin orange wire on the smaller harness (for the mirror controls) will not be the wire to tap into for the Drivers Side..

It will be the small thin black wire found on the same large harness (window controller) that has the white wire w/black stripe. Thank You Pocky!!!!

- For the Passenger side you use the white wire w/ black stripe found on the Window Control harness along with the small thin orange wire found on the Door Lock Switch harness.

- The actual door cup removal was not necessary to install the LED board.
I was able just to slide it into place and snap it in on both sides.
(4 less screws to remove and 1 less clip to release)

This was the first time I removed the door panels (winging it), and I can say for sure I extremely dislike the green snap clips..

The LS460 door lucks were a fun swap.!!

Thanks Again!!

Np... I actually just found a hicup on my wiring this morning..
(since it was still dark)

Because I used this new black wire.. As soon as I turned the car off.. My Passenger side led remained ON, while my Drivers side led turned OFF instantly.

The passenger side turned OFF once I opened my door..

Which means that black wire loses power once the car is off verses once the car is off & door is open..

So I think I just need to find a different wire on the Drivers side, so they both turn off the same way..

Joez,
I like the way the passenger light works.
"My Passenger side led remained ON, while my Drivers side led turned OFF instantly.
The passenger side turned OFF once I opened my door...."

It makes sense for the passenger to see the door handle
Will you fix the driver side or the passenger side?

Agreed... The goal would be to fix the drivers side..

Buy the 22-18 gauge splice connectors. There's no need to tap the rear wires because there's no slot to install the LEDs into - only the fronts have the slot for the light.

Thank you Javier,

i was looking at the pictures you have posted and i was a bit confused for the passenger side wire connection. since i have ISX50 w/sport pkg i would follow the instructions you have stated for the driver side but for the passenger what is the color combination do i tap into wire the LED.

Very true...

Although, I am seriously thinking about buying another pair of LED's and making my own slot for the light to shine through the Rears..

Just so it all matches nicely...

For the passenger just look at my post #35 and also use Javy's pics for refference....
(one of the harnesses will look different while your actually doing it)

The passenger side wiring is constant across all models. What changes (depending on which package you have if any) is the driver side wiring. In your particular case since you have the sport package, instead of the orange wire you'll tap the thin black wire found on the same larger harness (window controller) that has the white wire w/black stripe.

I've updated my initial post #1 to include the updates that Joe Z and pocky provided.
