How's your heater?
I had tacked this onto the end of another thread but only got one reply :(

Hmm - mine takes at least 5 minutes/4 miles @45-50 MPH in 30-40 degree weather just to start getting warm. And the temp gauge won't approach the middle of the dial for another few miles. Do I have a thermostat problem? I've also heard using high octane gas will cause slow engine warming too; can someone verify? BTW, the seat heaters work very well! Nah, yours is "normal" my car takes that long to heat up too.
People have complained about how long the car takes to heat up. |
My heater is definitely faster than my cooling that's for sure

There is NO cooling, just fans that blow air through the perferated seats. The system can cool if you direct AC to the floor.

Mines is good... never really though about how long it takes to warm up... I had a car 5 years ago where the heater stop workin... so I'm appreciative that it works.

Never used it, I just use the butt warmer + thick coat with scarf.

It prooved to be so that Lexus cars (and Toyotas are rumored too) heat up significantly longer than many others. It takes some good time for the engine to heat and for the heater to start blowing warm air. You need to have some really cold winters to feel that.
Concerning seat ventilator, from my experience it blows exactly same air that is blowing through the car vent system, and if you're running cold A/C the seat ventilators should be blowing cold A/C air |
vancouver's a bit more mild, but today my heater started pumping out hot air after 1 block of driving/1 minute.

takes my car very very long to heat up .. guess they didnt fix it on the 09s
