The engine will shut off if you car rolled back a little in D. As for alignment, just get it checked. I did a 180 spin on the freeway @ 70mph, car shut off and steering felt odd.

Do your tires need replacement? I'm always surprised when I hear these stories, because the IS is very planted on turns, and the VDIM usually hits the "stupid" button before something like this could happen.

I feel like I'd have to really be trying to screw up to get into a dead spin in this car, at least if the tires are good and I didn't do something crazy like floor the gas on an offramp in torrential rain.

I spun out at Fontana at a Speed Venture track day. Turn 3..Just was on the brakes to late in which the *** end was to light. Was kinda funny my friend was in the car with me once the *** end broke loose the car started peeping like a mo'fo' well the car just had to deal i was to far gone. After i knew i was to far gone just turn into it & ended up the wrong way. My car came back rather quickly & it did seem a little different at first but after another lap she was all good.

First day of rain, so roads are slick. Drive safe, definitely get the steering checked out if it doesn't go away.
