Exclamation 09 IS250 AWD - Engine lights ??!

EDIT: SEE MY POST BELOW FOR THE RESULTS...

I have a 2009 IS250 AWD (Canadian Model), and just recently (on Monday, November 23) I had some engine lights pop up on the dash.

I had it parked on the side of the street while I went to class for about 2 hours, then when I came back and started the car I got these warning lights:

- 2 different "!" lights
- ABS light
- TRAC light
- shows "Check AWD" on the display in the middle of the dash

I tried turning TRAC on/off but it just says "Check AWD" when I turn it on

Anyone have any idea on that's wrong with it? I just got the car this summer on August 15th so I shouldn't expect any problems with a Lexus so soon right?

I went to the Lexus dealer right when I saw the lights, and they said they're fully booked at the moment, so the guy made me an appoint for tomorrow (Thursday, 26th) to check it out.

But it's been on my mind since Monday, and I'm scared to drive the car out.

So does anyone have any idea?

Thanks a bunch.

Hey ,

I had an AWD BMW 530xi and the same thing happened to me. I can't say for sure, as I don't have an AWD Lexus, but if the lights are on that you state, then I wouldn't worry to much about it.

What the car is telling you is it found a fault in the AWD system. The reason the TRAC and ABS light are on is because that is how the AWD system figures out which wheel need most traction or least traction ( or a combo of other things ).

Your AWD system is still engaged, just some of the sensing systems are offline. You can still drive, I just wouldn't be driving 90mph in snow or rain anytime soon, because these systems are engaged currently.

Car is FULLy drivable , just drive carefully thats all....

What happened at the dealer? Did they find the issue?

So i just got back from the dealer, and this is what's happened:

Apparently the wire that connects the ABS to the AWD system in the rear-left wheel has been cut.

Possibility 1:
It wasn't cut in the middle, it was right at the end of the wire, so perfect you can be 99% sure that a person did it.

But I had my car parked outside in the DAYLIGHT, why the hell would anyone do this? And why would they go specifically for that wire? (Seems like they know something about cars). Also, wouldn't they mind getting dirty under a car?
If it's a hater, why not key my car or something? (Although, I'd probably prefer this over the keying because everything is covered under warranty)

Possibility 2:
Something happened and it just disconnected (broke) while driving...? I had no problems and no accidents, so I have no idea how this could have happened.. It's a brand new car, just got it in August... maybe a bird/squirrel chewed it off?

PICTURES (I stuck my camera under the car and tried to take some pictures of the bad wheel and the good one on the rear-right):

----------------------

So Lexus is ordering the parts for it to be fixed from California, and will get it sometime next week, and I probably won't be able to get a service appointment until the week after that.

I'm getting my snow tires done tomorrow (without the TPM), so that's another warning that I'm going to get on the dash.... I can already see the fun in driving this car for the next 2 weeks..........

P.S. So everything is fully functional except ABS...what is it for anyways?
