The chrome tips are welded to the mesh. Only small blobs of welding holds them on. It definately can easily be removed but the concern would be if you'll be able to put it back on. You'll need to weld it back on

Nicely done. I plan on doing this myself as I love the rear bumper. You can get it painted from Sewell with ALL the parts for $1,203.78 shipped.
