It's kinda annoying but if you can get everything out of the way to fit a ratchet with extension there you will eventually connect with the bolt and get it off.. Honestly I didn't even put mine back on. 40k miles later so far so good.

Hey fam.... I have a question for y’all! I went to replace my alternator after allowing a mechanic to change it years prior before I became more confident in my ability. So I found out that he didn’t put the bottom bolt nor bracket back on the car. I found this out after following this thread to replace the part. Also this strange piece fell off as I wiggled the alt forward... so my question is do anyone know what this piece is to? And also what the alternator bolt part number and bracket? I’m really not trying to skip any steps putting it back in. As always thanks in advance!

^That piece you're holding looks like it was broken off of something with that rough edge there. Hard to say though where that came from.
About that extra bracket behind the ALT, have you had issues with your current ALT and that's why you're wanting that bracket to see if it helps anything? If not, I assume it has been running just fine without that bracket for years?
