sorry to hear about what you're going through. buying something that expensive from someone with that low of post count is like playing russian roulette (sp?) with your money.

for future reference, buy from a CL sponsor, a CL member with high post count and vouches from other members, and/or a local CL member. that way, you avoid situations like this.

Yeah, that an extremely low post count, I'm weary of people with less than 400 posts and no trader score!
Sorry to hear about this! If you have his address, call his local police department, submit a report for fraud with them.

Karma is nice and all, but I'd rather see the courts deal with this.

paypal is terrible with filing claims. if they have nothing in their paypal account, theres usually little they can do.

that's why I always opt for a credit card and not a bank account debit. you can dispute the charge with your cc company.

Default Texans are not all bad

Hey sorry to hear about the scam. I live in Texas and can say that I would never consider doing that to someone. I recently had an issue on ebay where someone used a stolen CC to buy the item they sent me. I ended up getting my money back through paypal. I hope you get yours back too.

That sucks, I'm nervous to even sell anything via shipping, let alone buy. Anyway, hope it gets resolved. You may also want to update the marketplace thread with a link to this thread just to make sure he can't try this again.
