Default Remote "Start", with Original SmartKey-FOB

I did a search on this and came up with a bunch of different scenarios, but no results yet.

"Simply" are there any updates on getting remote "start" on the IS-X50 using only the factory Smart-key. (I.e. NOT adding a 2nd key-fob.)

in order to do it without additional fobs it seems like it would have to be OEM.. currently, an OEM remote start option does not exist

Yeh, that's what I thought. Due to the "Keyless-Go" electronics/security and the U.S. issue no doubt.

Oh well, I am sure "someone" will come up with something.

Thanks

how will you know with the factory key fob if you have started or turned off the car. the aftermrket ones show or give you some kind of indication that you have started or turned off the car and they have a timer to shut off if you forget!!! that is great that someone has figured this out and i am waiting for the fix to this solution. can someone figure out how we can get our hands on that remote that they show on the Lexus Parts??? between both i am sure we will have a bunch of happy people here!!!!

Many GM and Chrysler vehicles already have this from the factory with no 2-way communication (I.e. LCD on the remote tellin you if it's started or not.

It shuts it-self off in 15 minutes and the doors have to be locked in order for the remote start. Also, nothing but the preset AC/Heating and seat heaters work until you actually put the key in the ignition. You can't shift it, nothing.

Why would you want to shut the engine off remotely? Makes more sense that once you parked your car, you'd turn it off. Getting out of the car and using the remote is wrong!
