Yeah, that looks like the car I have now, but with the front uglied up.

And with the powertrain of the new GS not improving significantly it doesn't give me a ton of hope in that dept. for the next IS either

This is all my own opinion, but I believe we'll see the 06,07' 300/350 ordeal again. Should the next IS debut 10 months from now in early 2013 as a 14' model, the current 13' GS will probably get the 8-speed auto when it hits the MY14 year. Newer engines remains to be seen, but I'd better money the 8-speed will find its way into the rest of the line-up.

The RX350 F-Sport which debuts in a month or two will come exclusively with an 8-speed auto and paddle shifters while the non f-sport makes due with the 6-speed. So again my own personal opinion but I think MY14 models across the Lexus line will receive at the very least the transmission upgrade despite carry over engines

i guarantee a 4 cylinder Turbo and a V6 as the two prime options with Hyrbrid 4 to follow. Not just cause it's common sense, more so because since 2011 I have been doing lexus surveys about the next IS and it becomes very apparent what they are going for. It's very nice they are reaching out to current customers to do so though. For example all lay out of things that weren't well laid out this generation they are fixing in the next. The interior will definitely mimic the GS/CT but thats a given. The only real thing which will make or break this car, like every car, is that final exterior look... which worries me cuz I think the new GS and CT both compromised too much from the concepts. They kept the wrong cues and got rid of the right. The GS doesnt even make me look twice, where as I always fawned over the last iteration. Its almost reversed cuz the interior of the last gs was not exciting or "cool". My hates not bias either, the new BMW 3 series is exceptionally boring on the outside if not indistinguishable from the last, only the m-sport package makes me drool. One things for sure they will all have 2 year refreshes. Which hopefully will help, unlike with the new trapezoidal refreshed Audis.

As a result when my lease was up on my 2008 IS250, After a year of trying to decide, I got the same car again in IS350 f sport blue with the idea that next time I am considering a new car, there will be a brand new A4, refreshed 3rd gen Lexus IS, Refreshed New BMW 3.

Of topic rant; I am still amazed in Forums when people see new lexus' and comment that they are copying brand x, when minus the LED headlights (which were mimicking was done well)

Haha I've been saying the same thing... I still hope for my car/investments in my car, the new IS doesn't make me start over next year!

I say its a bit too early to tell.....

They just might go LS / GS / IS-F style on the next gen IS..
