The other day i was having a discussion with a family member about the 2009 honda accord sedan, and my 07 is250 awd. I noticed that our doors seem very heavy, and theirs very light. My bro-inlaw said there was no way that our door was no way there was a difference in weight between the two (although its obvious) does anyone have the weight on both driver side doors (i guess someone that would have access to the parts). The IS is just so much more solid, although the accord is a nice car, its just not as solidly built, if anyone could answer that question it would be appreciated thanks

No idea what one weighs, but if you think your doors are heavy you should try opening the doors on a vintage Cadillac Eldorado. Their doors are long and as heavy as a wrecking ball -- the absolute worst car to park next to if you are trying to avoid door dings.

Their is a diff. between the two. Lexus uses a coated metal that weights more. It helps with sound and door dings. Next time your at your bro-inlaws thump on his door then thumb your door. You'll notice a big diff.

Want to make it heavier? Add Dynamat to the entire door and it will sound like a boulder.
