If you get the IS350, you will say to yourself why didn't you get the IS-F... but anyways in daily driving you wont use the extra power too often...

If I were in your shoes, I definately save up a lil more and get a loaded IS350. The IS350 is not too much of a gas hog and the power is there when you want it. The IS250 just gets a tad more MPG, but the HP difference is very noticeable. The IS-F on the other hand is significantly more $$$. So the IS350 wins my vote for best all around.

I live in NY so rear wheel drive in the snow= headache, i went with the 250 awd, if i lived in florida, or someplace warmer i would have bought the 350. One thing i do have to say also is if your a fairly big guy, 6'0 200+ its going to feel cramped, im 5'10 210 and i feel snug with passengers in the car.

The 350 has more than enough power for 99% of the board members here. There are two things I wish the 350 had from the isf, the quick reacting tranny and the seats. Besides that, I'm satisfied with the power.

The difference in quickness between the 250 and 350 is significant whereas the difference between the 350 and ISF is much smaller. Add the average cost difference between the 350 and ISF 22k compared to 4k between the 250 and 350.

To the OP, I would recommend test driving the 250/350 before you make a decision.

Look at every thread started in the performance section by someone with a 250 and it's asking how they can get more power. Take two cars that weigh the same (give or take 50lbs) and take off 100hp. this is just brutal when on the hwy. Also don't forget about the brakes on the is350. They are incredible. Every 250 owner keeps trying to make their car faster. After 3yrs of this car being out and the post i think the answer always ends up being "take your 250 back up to the dealer, and trade it in for a 350".

I had a 250 as a loaner car and I would almost put money on it that my daily driver 2001 toyota corolla is faster and more nimble than that car. Pretty crazy

There are tons of good deals on 350's in craigslist, etc. You can get them with low miles. Heck I have mine I just posted up that only has 20k miles on it. And volks

get the 350.

I guess i am that 1% ...I was at the track last weekend and this M3 was just pulling me down the straights. Also looked like his car handled a little better than mine..My IS350 is stock just has the F rear sway..Getting coilovers soon..Just aint got the IS-f cash in dah pockets...All in all the car was awesome and yes from an other post the brakes work really good...I stomped on them for the whole session the were right there...

I bet that m3 was modified. They take modifications pretty well compared to our cars.

to the OP, if all you care about is a nice luxurious ride, then the 250 is for you. If you don't want to be embarassed by a Honda civic, Scion TC or some lady in a v6 minivan, then get the 350.

I tried to search, but the words are too short to find a thread I want about why
Don't buy the 250, get a 350 LOL

I test drove both, and also rented 250 for 2 days. After that - I couldn't be happier with my 2006 IS350 )) Get one with the navi package, as price should be pretty much the same for a 3-year-old model.

Yeah yeah yeah, I've heard all of that. You still need to accelerate after intersections on the daily basis haha

No, I'm serious: test drive both to feel the difference. After driving 250, i'm not going to give up 300hp for anything less

350 all day, if the 250 was my only option then I wouldn't even be looking at Lexus's. As for 350 owners wanting an isf, I would opt an e92 m3 all day any day.

bought 250 almost 2 years ago
because
I don't care about speed,
(I used to max out my previous G35 6MT..lol..and flying all over the place got old )
save little bit on gas
250 and 350 exterior looks exactly the same
(yes I know the huge difference of 100hp,,trust me,,but that didn't bother me much)

speed and 100 extra HP that you get from 350 wasn't a big concern for me
because if you are REALLY looking for speed and HP, Lexus is the wrong car to begin with IMO

I just wanted something that looks nice,,and 2 year later,,I'm still happy
