Please help alternator won't charge the battery
Hello all,
Well thx to some stupid guy who put the battery of my IS250 wrong made some damage to my car. at this point my alternator is not charging the battery.... i have already tested the alternator and it working fine. when the guy installed my battery backwards hey blew only one fuse and that's the main fuse block so the car was not able to to start. so what this wanna be smart guy did he went and weld the broken part of the fuse backtogether.... so now my car does start & runs.... but my alternator is not charging the battery. do you think because of the main fuse block being weld back is cuasing this issue? i am getting a new main fuse block tomorrow. some help would be nice.. P.S. and i am not able to take my car to the dealership since i imported it from the states. so they won;t work on my car cause it was not bought true them. |
Have you tested the battery?
You can't weld fuses back together. The conductor used in a fuse is very specific to blow at a pre-designed threshold. Basically, by welding the fuse back together you have put in a higher-rated fuse. If whatever problem that blew the original fuse still exists, it may have damaged or still be damaging other parts of your electrical system if it hasn't been diagnosed and repaired yet. I am not sure where you are from, but you should possibly look at pursuing legal action against this guy. |
First off, do you have warranty? If yes, then don't worry about it and go to the dealer. Done deal.
