you should see when you take the back seats out you realize how little space there is back there for the passangers.

Lack of folding rear seats is a drawback and while it's true that it helps body rigidity, I think it was done to save money by eliminating the need for extra bracing and design complications. My M3 has folding rear seats and I can tell you it's super rock solid.

I would get a movers blanket or at least a drop cloth to lay down in the trunk before you put your bike in. Or get a folding bike; I got one and it works great.

 

LMAO I got a folding bicycle and was trying to figure out if I could move the rear seats down...lol no such luck.

Corolla XRS also doesn't have folding rear seats. But whatever...the folding bicycle fits in the trunk just fine!
