Excessive windshield wind noise?
Taking my car in tomorrow for the service campaigns, and thought I would also complain about excessive wind noise around the top of the windshield. Anyone else feel like there is lots of noise above 50 mph? It is not a constant sound, changes pitch constantly, seems as if air was getting by but never observed water or air actually coming through. I could be crazy, but does anyone know what I'm talking about? Of course stereo has to be off, sunroof closed etc to hear it...but it has bothered me since I bought the car. It trips me out how there is no top windshield molding strip on the newer Lexus's, just the side molding. There is the rubber under the glass but nothing covering the "top" of the gap.
i have had this problem since day one too. It's not really a pitching sound but almost as though there is air entering the car from somewhere that it shouldn't be. I just figured it was the build of the car and aerodynamics making the air that goes by sound really loud on the inside.
Let me know how your appointment goes and if they can do anything about it =)

Will do, though they called me to cancel my appointment because they still are out of the fuel rails for the service campaign...so when the parts come in I will ask about it. I did find some excessive wind noise threads on the LS460 forum, though I think they had issues with the doors.
There is one it's just that it under the glass. You should see a little sticking out between the roofline and the top of the windshield. I know because i had my windshield replaced. They had to order the glass with the molding because you cant order the molding by itself.
