Not at all. Those are quite conservative numbers.

Actually, I don't even think that's considered a stretch nowadays. I'm running that tire setup on 19x9 and 19x10 just fine so you're good.

Thanks... I've kinda narrowed it down to the Toyo Proxes 4 vs. Goodyear Asymetrical... any words of wisdom?

Why not Toyo T1R instead of Proxes 4?

I heard good things about Goodyear...should give it a try

I'm going to be running those sizes on my new 9/10 wheels. But it's not going to be "too much of a stretch"...

I think it will looks sick!

Why are people doing this. Are they too cheap to purchase the correct size tires for their wheels?

Define the "correct size tires" when running 19s. It all depends on your set up (suspension modifications) and your wheel specifications.

I'd like to know the answer too. Still hasn't been answered.

It would seem logical that if your wheel is 9.5 inches wide which is 241.3 mm (9.5 inches x 2.54= 24.13 cm... or 241.3 mm) then you would want a tire whose contact patch would be at least as wide as your wheel (245mm in this case). Now, if you don't want the edge of your wheel sticking out past the actual edge of the tire ("Tire stretching") then you would want to go with 255 or 265 so as to "protect" your wheel from curb rash and other damage. It seems to me, and I am NOT a tire expert, that 225 would be a little narrow and would defeat the purpose of the wide wheel. However, if you need to go with this size in order to clear suspension components then it is not by any means incorrect. Lastly, I don't think that there is a "correct" size but there are many "recommended" sizes and many variations to choose from.

If you go to www.intellexual.net there is an excellent explanation of how to choose a tire size based on the manufacturer's original tire/wheel size so as not to alter the suspension geometry that was originally intended.

Disclaimer: Again, I am not a tire expert nor do I wish to offend anyone. This was the reasoning I used to purchase 245/40/18 for my 18 x 8 inch front wheels and 265/40/18 for my 18 x 9 rear wheels.

Most of us that running stretch tires are mostly for looks and fender clearance. Its not that we are too cheap to buy the right size tires. We want the flush look without modifying the fenders and the only way to do this is stretch the tires and some guys think that its sexy. If I were too cheap, then I would have not spend $3800 on my wheels and tires and probably driving a corolla instead. So don't jump into conclusion that just because we are running stretch tires we are too cheap to buy the right size tires.
