Any worries on a used car are justified.....Just make sure everything is in check, carfax, and that it has been consistently maintained every 5k or so...check in the owners manuals to see if the service points have been completed. Other than that the milage seems pretty good....

Considering i have an 08 IS250 with 36k on it already....they are pretty solid cars when kept up.

If the car was built in 05 I wouldn't consider it high mileage.

Not excessive mileage, but enough to use as bargaining point.

2nd question....if i want to get it checked out by a mechanic to make sure it's on the level where would I go? I don't have a trusted mechanic because I just moved. Can I take it to a lexus dealer and have them look it over?

Yes you can take it to a Lexus Dealership/Service Department and they can perform a pre-buy inspection which should take around an hour to inspect. It should come with a check list sheet that measures/ranks the condition of components, parts, and battery test.

spend $100 get it checked out and buy it. I think its a reasonable price. Not too ridiculous. Should be able to bargain alittle bit but idk. Good luck

50k miles is only a quarter of it's life. Toyota guts go faaaaaar. Get it checked out for peace of mind and make a raging deal.

When I bought my 06 in January it had 62k.

Only issue I have had is just now occuring; I took it in to get the service bullitens done with the fuel rails, power steering and brake dust boot on the rear (not that I noticed alot of REAR brake dust....) and while the mechanic was under there he discovered a leak in the head gasket. They took care of it under warranty but it took them 18 days with me in an ES350 (eh, btw). Got the car back yesturday and whatever they adjusted on the power steering is freaking awesome.

They forgot one of my engine covers and the AC is out now on the bad side. The mechanic offered to come to me today and look at things so I dont have to wait till Tuesday. Lexus also gave me a coupon for a free 70k Maintenance so all in all, once the AC comes back on, things will be good. I have no reliability fears from the car. Seen too many beat up Toyota's with 160-200k to worry about one that is maintained properly!!
