Default How do you turn off traction control for good!?!?

I have 2008 IS250 Six speed and i like to slide my cars around. Problem is when i turn traction control off it just kicks it right back on when ever the tires start to spin just a little. Ive seen the video for the automatic but the guy says every time you turn your car off the traction control resets it self and turns it back on. I want this **** turned off it really bogs the car down alot?

Thanks

Hold down the TRAC button until both lights come on on the dash. It stays off until you restart the vehicle.

it can not be turned off permanently.

Does this work on an '06 IS 350? Currently, it reactivates when I exceed 30mph.

No you will have to a sequence of pedal dances. Look up Pedal Dance and you shall find your answer.

On the 09's when you turn off TRAC control it displays the message TRAC OFF on the display where normally you will have temp, mpg etc. I like to drive with TRAC off sometimes but don't want to see that stupid message all the time. Would rather see the temp. ANyone now of a way to keep track off but get display to stay on Temp???

There is, I've done it on my '08 when there was snow outside. It's very fun

holding down the button will turn it off until you reach 30mph then it will reactivate itself. by doing the pedal dance it will disable the traction control until you restart the car.

Yes - it stays off until you restart the car.

Holding down the button won't do anything one you reach 30 mph. If you do the pedal dance, you've disabled TRAC + VSC. That's as 'out of control' as you can get. VDIM ABS, Brake Proportioning and Brake Boost, etc... are still enabled, and cannot be turned off.

On a 2006 that is true.

On a 2007+ it will turn off TRAC and VSC until you restart the vehicle, no need for the pedal dance.
