Replacing stock tweeters

Has anyone had any luck replacing the tweeters in the stock location? How hard was it? What model tweeter did you manage to fit? I am planning on putting in a custom system when I get my IS250.

There's plenty of room in the stock "pod". I've got 3/4" JL VR series in there now, and I could have fit in a 1" dome easily.
