differences with the is250's
 

hey guys, I have always been a lurker but have finally decided to post. I had a very general question, what are the differences with the 06 and 07 is250's. I am actually in the market in purchasing an IS soon but wanted to know the pros and cons with the 2 years. I know there were a few recalls with the 06's, but other than that, is there anything different? I know they produce the same HP and torque, are there any body mods that are diff (headlights, taillights, etc). Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Major differences are the stability/trac disable button and sharkfin antenna on roof.

I'm curious now, is that a easy way to spot a 2006 IS (w/o sharkfin)?

yup ^. only 06's w/ w/e sat radio i think got the fin? so most of them are w/o fin

yeah thats the easiest way to spot the difference between 06s and 07s..... n fins and with fins..

is bodywork all the same? how bout the headlights.

07 comes standard with HID's. you have to get premium, luxury or sport on 06 for HID's.... sharkfin... anddd.......... thats about it.

HID's are never standard on an IS 250.

They are always an ordered option, even today.

It becomes a "Standard" as most dealers would have it on..... cos of the demand and also the popularity.... i got the 07s... i still had to op for premium pack to get the HIDs..

Still have to be careful.

I see plenty roll through the used lot that don't have them, even with Premium package.

2006:
no sharkfin antennae
silver/white wheels

2007:
sharkfin antennae
silver/white wheels

2008:
sharkfin antennae
liquid graphite (gunmetal) wheels

2009:
sharkfin antennae
new style liquid graphite (gunmetal) wheels
differnt tail-lights (white swoosh backup lights)
slight change in front bumper and grill

IS250:
the badge (duh)
small rotors
small silver calipers

IS350:
the badge (duh)
large rotors
large grey caliper

IS-F:
the badge (duh)
bump on the hood
front bumper with huge air dams
front fender side vents
Tail-lights with white turn signals
small rear spoiler that sits ontop of the trunk
bumper with small slit reflectors
quad exhaust tips
