Interesting I look forward to seeing the final product. Do you know if theres a way to run the video feed of the cam to your Navi? I was wanting to get a cam and mount it in front behind my lip where I had cut out and inserted a grill. My idea was to be able to see whats in front of me as far as potholes, and parking etc. Many times I've let my gf drive my car and she almost hits the curb when pulling in.
Absolutely can tie it to the navi.
However, it's not water proof so i don't recommend mounting these outside
