Moon Roof Squeak (after some mountain driving)
A while back I had my moon roof re-aligned and gasket replaced because it leaked. After this was done I noticed that when the moon roof was in the open position (no - tilt) there was a rattle. I figured I'll take it in one of these days. Now last weekend I had a bit of fun in some twisties, nothing too crazy, no tire squeal or traction control yelling at me, just some "spirited" driving. As I was driving I heard some interior creaking noises figuring its normal under these types of forces on the car. After all, people that auto X must encounter this as well. So now a day or so after I hear a squeaky noise every time my car goes over any bumps, and it's the moon roof. I can simulate the noise by gently pushing up or down on the glass. I thinking it’s because the car must flex a bit over bumps but the noise is new. I suppose it could just be that the dry lube (white powder) that is on the moon roof weather stripping has depleted? Any ideas what could be causing this? Anyone else experience something like this? I'm thinking it’s just the gasket rubbing against the roofline, but would the car really flex that much?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Yeah, the rattle is only when it is slid open (not tilted) but it can definitely be annoying. Usually I just have it tilted so then it doesn't make any noise. I will watch the new squeak for a few days and see if it gets worse, then probably take it in.

squeaks when the sunroof is closed, just put a little vasaline on the rubber edge where it touches the body of the car, works like a charm, so take the jar from infront your computer and put it in your toolbox

Good idea, but is there something else I should use such as some sort of dry silicone lubricant? Any suggestions? I only have one jar and can't put it in the toolbox.
