hey bounce, the stock bulb is on the left. has that amber color to it. the garax 6000k is installed to the right side and it has that slight blue color to it. it does look super white to me in person. for some odd reason it just looks more blue in pictures than what it looks like in person. i will be getting my xenon depot 6000k bulbs 1/5/10. i will post pics of the bulbs installed then.

on a side note, its been a pleasure working with steve and ordering from xenon depot for all my lighting questions and stuff. too bad they are in canada n the items gets to u in a few days, but its worth the wait =)

The reason I asked (and its prob just the camera) but the light from your oem just looked a bit yellow. Again probably its due to the camera and looks more white in person. But the Garax looks real nice.

So I installed these and my JoeZ intake at the same time. Install was fairly easy for both. The 6000K Xenon Depot is on the left and OEM HID on the right. Again as with most pictures of lights, this is not exactly what they look like in person. The 6000K bulb looks as another poster mentioned more pure white versus OEM is more of a creamy white. That is the best to describe it in my opinion. I am very happy with the color hopefully the light output (lumens) is not too degraded from OEM. I also hope these last as long as my OEM's did (3.5years/72k miles).

Just wondering, how satisfied are people with the XenonDepot bulbs (2nd gen) so far? Also, how is the actual light output (not color) compared to OEM HID?
I see you have installed these bulbs. You described the color of the bulbs accuratley as a crystal white. My bulbs just died after 1 1/2 years and approximately 5K Miles (not too much driving). The output wasn't that great at all. I had to aim my headlights higher to make better use of the bulbs.

I am now switching to Garax 6000k bulbs.

Anyone know where the cheapest Garax bulbs are? It seems like it's cheapest on Ebay for $89.95 + 8% Bing Cashback with 1 year warranty.

hey iskcon, that was where i got my previous set of garax 600k bulbs (ebay). get them from the seller jdmtoys. They have great service and are responsive. Unfortunately when I installed the new set of garax 6000k, only 1 bulb worked. This is right out of the box. Did not even drive 1 block! I might give them a second chance if the xenon bulbs don't work out.

on a side note, have you contacted Steve from Xenon Depot regarding the ds4 bulbs? maybe they are still under warranty? Maybe you can work something out with Steve? just a thought.

Take pictures of the Garax 6000k when u get them on!

I agree, the light output of these is a bit less then OEM. I don't have the lumens spec for either bulb. Also, my headlights are also raised higher as originally they were pointed too low for my liking. Let us know how you feel about the Garax bulbs.

Hey,

Didn't you get the bulb replaced under warranty? Jdmtoys is selling their set for $109.99 while another seller that also seems reliable is selling for $89.95 (mtecpower) so I'll probably go with the cheaper set.

And you're right, I have not asked XenonDepot yet but I know their warranty is 1 year from date of purchase so I may be out of luck. I will still ask nonetheless maybe if I can't get it under warranty then possibly a discounted pair.

Yeah of course the output is going to be less than OEM since its 4300k vs 6000k. But I noticed a difference in light output when comparing the XenonDepot D4S bulbs vs other brands. My friend who has D4s 6000k (I forgot the brand) compared the output with mine (with same height adjustment) and his lights were brighter than mine.

If I can't work out something with XenonDepot, then I'll go ahead with the purchase of Garax bulbs. Will post later on.

How do you like them funnie? How's the output compared to other 6000K bulbs? I get the sense that Garax but there's not much of a consensus.

i just got them and used them a couple of times in the night time. I think they are fine. I'm happy with the end result. I can drive just fine on the freeway and local. My gf on other hand says she can notice the less light output vs the stock 4300k oem bulb. maybe she is just picky.

Default Passenger low beam out/Lumens output

Hi everyone, I recently noticed my passenger low beam is out, and while checking it out, I noticed that when I switch the low beam on, the passenger side lights up for about 1 second and then shuts off again. Given that the light does come on for at least a second, does that still mean bulb replacement, or something else??

On another topic, while searching for bulbs, I read that 4300k bulbs would give you the maximum lumens output (brightness) and that the higher you go, the less lumens you get. So in my words, if we go higher than 4300k were are trading brightness for color coolness!? I dont know if thats true with all brands, or just for the one, of the site I was at.
