the pics are from a 06-08 side mirror, i'll be doing a 09 tonite and i'll see if its the same as ours or like the F's.

I second that, does anyone know if a 6LED would fit?
Yes the 6's will fit but they are not nearly as bright as the 4 LED High Power Flank bulbs.

I don't know why the LEDs would melt the housing no matter what brand they are. They don't even get as hot as a standard filament bulb, and besides that they aren't even on long enough to build any kind of dangerous heat. You can get the bulbs I used on the V-LEDs site.

I forgot to ask, do they still fade in and out like the stock lamps or are they much faster coming on?

They fade in and out just like the stock ones, it has nothing to do with the bulbs, that is all controlled by the lighting module. It's just a fade in the voltage going to the light.

Yes use the flank there is no reason to fire light anywhere else but down.

i bought a set of PIAA extreme white wedge bulbs, will they be not as bright?

wow those 4 led flanks look pretty nice, wish i saw them when i was ordering.

if someone happens to want to take comparison shots for the rest of us, might i recommend setting the camera in manual mode to dial in one constant shutter speed so we can keep the exposure the same. this would make for much better comparison shots.

i only wish i thought about snapping pics of stock vs led bulbs, too late now, sorry!

anyone get the led boards from nigel to do the install on the puddle lamps...that would be SUPER bright!

The 4 LED high power flank style bulb from V-LEDS.com has the equivalent output as 40 standard LEDs. I don't even think you could fit a board with 40 LEDs in that housing. So IMO the V-LEDs bulb is the best way to go. Super easy to install, and no fussing with mounting a board...... just plug n play!
