Default 6000k D4S from XenonDepot

I purchased 2 D4S 6000K bulbs from xenondepot back in january and installed it in februrary. It seemed to have worked straight away without any problems although i did read some people having issues with some bulbs where they turn on and turn off straight away.

Anyway, for 6 months now it has been working smoothly without any probem until today. I have just got my car back from the Lexus Dealerships Bodyshop who had to remove my front bumper for a respray. Since i got it back I am having some really strange problems with my bulbs. first i noticed that after a little while my driver side D4S bulb just turned off. i turned headlights off and on and it came on and then went off again after a while. So, i called the dealership and they said that they didnt remove the headlight just the bumper. The strange thing is sometimes both bulbs turn off but most of the time just the drivers side one. And sometimes it stays on.

I dont know what the problem is. I hope this will not damage my ballast in anyway.

would really appreciate any advice anyone may have.

thanks in advance

Man I just ordered D4S bulbs from Xenon Depot too. There was another thread of problems with these bulbs. I don't think you are alone (other thread was about the color going to white)

Was your car in an accident?

Its possible that something happened when they repaired your car.

I did read that people where having problems with the driver side and mine just recently went out also? I cant say what or why but Steve (XenonDepot) was pleasant to deal with and sent out the replacement.

I would post over in the Light section and PM Steve to see what you can check.

Hope it works out for you!

i'm wondering if the bumper actually can be removed without touching the headlights or its wiring? it just seems like such a coincidence that this has just started happening now that i got it back from bodyshop, although they insist that they didnt open the headlights

Could it be connection gone lose or something? i am going to try and put the OEM's back tomorrow and see if that works fine. This is really strange and rather embarrassing when your driving such a car with only one light on

Almost sounds like a loose ground wire or something.

I got my 6000k D4S bulbs from Xenon depot too and my driver side bulb changed colors from Crystal BLUE/WHITE to yellow. I PM'ed Steve and he sending me a replacement. In fact it is on its way now so I am happy with the service they are providing me. You should PM him and ask him about your problem.

Guys, are you sure its the bulbs?

Check the OEM wiring first, My wires had to be cut / spliced, because the OEM connectors were bent, and not letting current though.....

I noticed that the colours of both bulbs dont seem to match either. One seems to be much lighter (whiter) than the other

I'm having the same problem. After get back to check with the dealer, they comment that it was bulbs.

Now, I'm changing to use another brand (Garax) which import from Japan.

the bulbs? my 06 traded headlights did this with stock 4300k bulbs.. but it worked fine afterwards.. it will shut off but when you turn it off and back on it works again.. it was pretty weird but didnt have a issue after that.. but i swapped those headlights with another car and now i have brand new lights.. so i hope it doesnt go bad on me especially after i black em out again
