Default Rims Question Please help

Will the 18x8.5 +50 offeset Lexus Liquid graphite wheels fit on my 2006 AWD IS250 without any modification or problem?
What tires should I get?
I love their look because it's not too tunerish
I tried to search but I didn't see anything... (not a forum noob)
thanks in advance!

Yes you can use them. You just need to make sure the overall diameter of the tires is the same. (your rotation diameter as close as possible)...

If you get them from another member the rear tire has to come off and be replaced.

Hope that helps! Tires size is going to be preference to what you want.

Thanks so much!
Overall diamater of the tires? You mean get the same tire thickness for all? (Like 225/45 for example?)

^^your welcome...

I mean same rotaion diameter. unless you are getting the same rims front to back. I have the 350 and they are staggered. I dont know the tire sizes off teh top of my head but for instance:

19 x 8.5 front = 235/35-19
19 x 10 rears = 275/30-19

This set up above, due to the staggered rims, would give the overall same rotation diameter. you dont want the front "or" rear to have a smaller or larger diameter tire. It will push or pull the AWD as one wants to rotate quicker then the other.

so if you go with the same size front to rear then you use the same tire size for both. if you are going to have a large rim in the rear then you need to compensate that with a different tire size.

does that make sense?

here is a good site that can help you determine what tires you need for the size rims you are putting on.

Great passnu2 =)

All the rims are 18x8.5s, so I think I can get the same tire size, but I understand what you're saying now!

TPMS...how do you know if your car has it? When I toggle through the displays it shows up. What do I have to look out for when changing out my stock wheels?

Also, the stock wheels have wheel locks on them. Does this mean I can only change the wheels at a Lexus dealership? and would that void my warranty on pretty much anything that could happen even though they're lexus wheels too?

Whew* Sorry for the questions!
You guys have been a great help.

IMPORTANT

Check the offset of the rims.

When I was under the car, my 18x8 offset +40 rims have about 0.5" of room before the rim touches the upper control arm (in a different place from the normal IS), if youre not careful, this could be a problem.

your car does have TPMS. You can get a new set or have someone remove the ones in the current rims on you car. They will now what to do and to reseal them.

You have the Lock Key in your trunk by the spare so you do not need to go to Lexus.

You will not void your warranty using OEM parts.

Offset is +50 on those rims

I don't know the stock offset that my car is running now...
Any input before I make a very costly mistake? =p

Just saw that my wheels are +45 mm from a diff thread on this forum. Think it should be all right?

you can always run a 5mm spacer if need be. I would suggest a 10mm hub centric spacer to push them closer to the fender It will look much better and you will have no rub issues.

here is all you would need

a +40 mm on a 8" wide rim means it goes 130mm/5.778" behind the hub,

a +50 mm on a 8.5" wide rim means it goes 145mm/6.472" behind the hub.

I did the calculations assuming 1" = 22.5mm.

According to that, the rims will most likely not fit, or will scratch your upper control arm and create issues without a spacer. If you plan on getting them from a dealer, ask them to test the rim on your front first before you purchase, if its online then I really would not risk it, as when I was under the car the fitment is awefully close. Better safe than sorry

The reason for this crappy offset is if you do the calculations, the 17x8 +45 and 18x8 +45 offset of the ISx50 and AWD wheels sticks out the same 45mm from the hub as the 18x8.5 +50mm rears.
