Lightbulb new tires and this is happening

About a week ago, I purchased new tires 265/35/18 for the rear, prior to this the ride was smooth but after buying the new tires driving on the highway around 70-80 mph i noticed that the car would wobble left and right.

my question is: what could be the problem?

ive deducted out the wind factor because its never happened before with my old tires.

any help/insight would be great appreciated.

Could be a possibility that your tires weren't balanced correctly

That or it might be possible they stripped the stud or didnt tighten the all the lug nuts.

Sounds possible but the balancing would be my 1st thought.

one of the belts might be out of wack too. take it to the tires shop and have them switch the rear tires right to left

The steering wheel or car itself is moving left and right? If it's the steering wheel, that is a balancing issue.

Well, could be a semantic argument starting here, but I don't attribute 'wobbles' to balance issues. Usually, IME, vibrations are caused by balance issues. Wobbles tend to be tramlining, bad pressure or a steering rack issue.

yeah, appreciate it guys, brought it back to the tire guys, they balanced everything, checked the tire pressure.

im guessing it was balance and pressure issue.

im glad it got resolved asap.

Did they give you any specs or tell you it was out of balance? Was it a regular balance or road force balance? Did they realign?

Tire shops often fail to set proper air pressure after seating the tire bead during mounting which is usually 40-50 PSI.

How do you like the 265 size now? did you see a change in fender gap?
