Sorry if this doesnt pertain to anyone but I just have to post this.

So the story goes like this...I was driving down Gale Ave (in rowland) heading east. The road goes 2 lanes, then merges to 1 then after a few blocks, another lane adds. When it changed to 1 lane, I let a lexus is250 in because I'm a nice guy when it comes to lexus. (usually nice guy to all cars, especially JDM and definetly lexus.) then when the lane splits into 2, I go to the open lane, downshift to pass the traffic, then this fellow 250 cuts me off so badly that I have about a 6in-12in of space from my car to his car and my car and to the curb. I got soo mad. >:O. I wasn't following him but I was going in the direction that he was. I guess he thought I was following him so he made a right turn into HomeDepot(which is located a few blocks after where he cut me off) and to think I had the decency to let him in...but I decided to let it go and not look at his face aka rubber neck him *LOL just wanted to that term*

I'm just shocked that a fellow lexus would do that. I assumed that he was a young kid thinking he's all that just because he drives a lexus. But didnt want to make a big deal out of it. *sigh* well...venting is done. Glad I got that out of my system. Thanks for reading my vent x]

I'd say drivers are so discourteous these days, it can happen in any car, even ours. I remember my younger years I was more short-tempered. But growing older does things to you... and in this case, good things. Hang in there.
P.S. I am always extra nice to fellow Lexus drivers. Just a sharing good taste type of thing I guess. =)

Wow!!! Sorry to hear about that. Yea all these young kids I see nowadays that drive an "IS" always think there so cool now until they notice your car with some goodies. I would love to pick out the other models, but the IS seems to be the one that everyone or kid is driving nowadays.

there's lot of aggressive a holes that shouldn't be on the road. it's the same guys (and girls) who will slam the gas in rush hour traffic to squeeze you out of your lane just so they can make a right turn that's 10 feet in front of you. like WTF?!?

 what can you do but to play it safe and just anticipate that kind of ish?

Sometimes I'll block them and watch them flip out all cursing in their car lol

couple of things.
1) I am sure you are aware of the horrible side and rear visibility of our cars. There have been many occasions where I was lucky I didn't rely only on the mirrors to change lanes because the blind spot on our left rear is huge.

2) The fact that you had to downshift to make an aggressive move into open space and pass traffic probably means you were the one that suddenly closed up the lane and that he never expected you there, especially after you were a passive driver just a while back.

3) Uh... maybe he was really going to Home Depot?

Anyway, people cut me off all the time, and I'm sure I've accidentally cut people off without knowing it other times too. It happens.

yea...our cars have a pretty big butt. kinda hard to see the blind spots unless you turn your head all the way

thing is...i was in the lane for a good amount of time. when he decided to cut me off, my front was already near his side mirrors. i mean...i guess i could have not made that lane change.

I hate to admit it but I am too especially nice to other Lexus (especially IS) owners until I got stuck behind a slow ES on the LEFT MOST LANE!!

Sometimes people are A-holes, and some really appericate you have some courtesy. Character points to you for being a good driver and every now and then people do the same for you. Take um as you get um and do in return. Lexus are not snobby owners at least here anyways

I know how it feels to be cut off like that. It's a good thing you didn't get road rage.

That happened to me one time at an intersection. I was going a little faster than the other cars on the right lane of a 2 lane road. As i was crossing the intersection, a huge raised Ford F150 truck on the left lane just immediately switched to my lane as we were side by side!!! I had to quickly swerve out of his way to avoid being hit. It was so close. And there were pedestrians on the side walk too. Luckily there was enough room for me to swerve. Otherwise I would have hit another car and maybe even that pedestrian. I got angry, but I just passed the truck and continued driving.

The OP did the right thing by letting the situation go and sharing the story to remind all of us on CL that professionalism pays off. I remember an old Law Professor once said, "the most successful people in life are those that can control their emotions." My props to the OP for playing things cool and not chasing down the lack of regard driver.
